Certificate Mark Statement | The certifier will authorize persons to use this certification mark to certify that the goods in connection with which it is used are produced and processed according to specifications that include individual animal genetics, individual animal identification, source and age verification, ration, number of days on feed in an Iowa feedlot, maximum age of animals at harvest, official USDA beef grades, and minimum number of days the beef is aged. List of certification standards-- Each steer and heifer harvested for Iowa-80 Beef animals is (1) verified to be sired by a 100% Angus bull, (2) source verified to the farm of birth using an identification system with a unique number that identifies the animal throughout the production process, (3) fed in Iowa for a minimum of 180 days, (4) fed a high-concentrate ration that totals at least 75 percent corn or corn co-products over the feeding period, and (5) age verified and processed at 18 months of age or less. All Iowa-80 Beef animals and beef products are segregated and labeled and product identity is retained throughout harvest and processing. All beef carcasses meet the quality standards for USDA grades upper one-third Choice or Prime. |
